Stefan Sharlopov has passed away

It is with sadness that we announce that Stefan Sharlopov died last night in his sleep at the age of 55. The founder of “Sharlopov Group” was at his home in Sofia.

A graduate of the University of Veliko Tarnovo, Stefan Sharlopov began his career as a journalist, publishing his first fiction documentary book only at the age of 26. Soon after, a private business began.

In his years of entrepreneurial activity, along with his numerous projects, he created the trademark for mineral water “Devin”, which we all know to this day.

President of the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and Spa, Stefan Sharlopov founded the first private hotel chain in Bulgaria — “Sharlopov Hotels” (today “Sharlopov Group”), which for 19 years has been a symbol for the concept of SPA tourism on the Bulgarian tourist market.

“Work, perseverance, ambition, positivism!” — this was his philosophy, and later the family motto of the Charlopovi family. A caring husband, father of five children and a proud grandfather, Stefan Sharlopov was also known for his patriotism — a true Bulgarian and a zealous defender of Bulgaria and the Bulgarian.

An exceptional man has left us, a parent, a husband and a mentor.
