Sharlopov Group is again in possession of Grand Hotel Murgavets
9.1.2017

Businessman Stefan Sharlopov took back the iconic Grand Hotel “Murgavec” in Pamporovo. Two seasons ago, he handed over the four-star building to the Turkish chain “Alkočlar” for management. However, the contract was terminated prematurely with a gnashing of teeth, said the native businessman. The reason is that the partners from our southern neighbor were not correct with the payments. The hotel didn't work to the standards I expected, Sharlopov explained. And he added that he hoped to learn something from his Turkish partners, given the legends that are floating about the good service and know-how in tourism of the neighbors. I was counting on us to be able to understand each other in a masculine word, to learn from them on the job. But this, unfortunately, did not happen, explained the businessman. This is also the reason why he took over the management of his hotel again and vowed not to rent it anymore and not to have joint business with Turkish companies.” For a gentleman's arrangement, however, two gentlemen are needed, one is not enough. The back of someone else's hand does not scratch,” Sharlopov figuratively explained his position. Therefore, a major renovation of the hotel will begin this winter. For the upcoming season, the top floor will be mainly renovated, and for the next, the entire building. Pamporovo can become a year-round spa destination if mineral water is brought from the remaining flow of the new Beden-Devin water pipeline, the businessman explained. This summer, for the first time in 10 years, there were tourists in Pamporovo, and it is logical to talk about the hotel being open all year round, Sharlopov explained.
