Nearly BGN 4 million is being invested for the expansion of the bed base of “Park Hotel Pirin”.

The start of the project was given today by the mayor of Sandanski Municipality Kiril Kotev, the owner of the chain Stefan Sharlopov and the candidate for representative from the GERB PP in Blagoevgrad region and former Deputy Minister of Tourism Alexander Manolev.

“At the insistence of my friend Alexander Manolev, the new five-star wing will be built only by local companies. So the whole investment will stay here and reach people and businesses,” Stefan Sharlopov said. He explained that the reason for the extension is that at the moment the hotel cannot accept all those who wish to stay in it. “There is no place even for me, in my own hotel,” Sharlopov stressed. It is expected that 30 new jobs will be created in the city, also for people from the region.

“Today's event is actually a continuation of a commitment made by Stefan Sharlopov during the campaign for the local elections. Then he said that if our mayor Kiril Kotev shows results and will for the development of the municipality, he will double his investments here.

He stressed that this hotel, with a modern base for spa and wellness tourism, will help the region overcome one of the biggest problems in the sector — the short stay of tourists. “This is a step towards fulfilling our strategic goal — to establish Sandanski as a year-round tourist destination with an average length of stay of at least 5 nights,” added Alexander Manolev.

Mayor Kiril Kotev stressed that the municipality will continue to promote investments in the municipality and expressed hope that this will be one of the many large projects that are about to take place in Sandanski.

The new wing will be ready in 12 to 14 months. With its completion, the existing base will be increased by 60 new luxury premises.
