On August 30, Sozopol hosted the fifth edition of the Black Sea Awards for Business and Tourism, the largest forum dedicated to the development of the Black Sea Region. This year, for the first time in the event’s history, nominees included companies from other states bordering on the Black Sea such as Romania, Ukraine, the Russian Federation, Georgia, and Turkey. Ministers, members of parliament, industry organization leaders and representatives of media partners took part in awarding the 22 gold statuettes to the winners of the long-awaited Black Sea contest. The wonderful atmosphere at the award ceremony was created by some of Bulgaria’s most beloved artists such as Vasil Petrov, Silvia Katsarova, Panayot Panayotov and opera singer Gergana Nikolaeva.
Sozopolis, part of the Sharlopov Group brand, won the prize for Best VIP Vacation Complex of 2019. The award was given to the complex’s general manager, Mrs. Vasilena Stefanova. Built as a replica of downtown Sozopol with its unique architecture and recognizable style, Sozopolis is a resort complex in a league of its own in Bulgaria.
